Sondra was born in Toronto, Canada. Her father served as the Canadian Counsel General to Panama for over 20 years. Her mother was one of Canada's top fashion models and her great-uncle was Louis B. Mayer of M.G.M fame.

She was a professional ballet dancer at a very young age and retired from the theater after the birth of her second child.

Sondra attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and the Academia Di Belle Arti in Milano.

Shortly after the death of her husband, Aaron "Bunny" Lapin, inventor of "Reddi-Whip", she suffered a brain aneurysm, which of course changed her life and deprived her permanently the use of one eye. Lack of depth perception and balance could not stop her from creating the beauty around her.

With great determination, coupled with hard work, she returned to her passion. Sondra paints her vivid flowers - and the animals - all important to her life. She makes them come alive on canvas.

Sondra has been honored by the Orange County Pet Project Foundation. Giving Back is her way of saying Thank You for all she's achieved.

Her true and brilliant colors reflect love of life, curiosity, but, most of all, the beauty she sees in God's gifts to us... flowers, the sea, the sunset, the animals who love us unconditionally.

For Sondra, there is no room for sadness in art.

**Her works are currently being exhibited at The Laguna Design Center, The Lakes Country Club in Palm Desert, Gemmel's At The Beach in San Clemente,Wilds's Pet Emporium in Laguna Beach, and Dogma in Irvine.
